For the second straight month, customers of Meralco (Manila Electric Company) will see higher electricity bills this November 2025, as the power distributor announced another rate hike.
According to Meralco, rates will increase by ₱0.1520 per kilowatt-hour (kWh), raising the overall electricity cost to ₱13.4702 per kWh from ₱13.3182 per kWh in October.
This means an additional:
- ₱30 for households consuming 200 kWh
- ₱46 for 300 kWh
- ₱61 for 400 kWh
- ₱76 for 500 kWh
The increase was mainly driven by higher transmission charges, up by ₱0.1468 per kWh, due to additional ancillary service costs from the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP). Meanwhile, the Feed-in Tariff Allowance (FIT-All) also went up by ₱0.0884 per kWh following the Energy Regulatory Commission’s new directive.
While there was a slight drop in generation charges—down by ₱0.1008 per kWh due to lower fuel costs and decreased prices in the Wholesale Electricity Spot Market (WESM)—it wasn’t enough to offset the overall increase.
